Lisa Jordan is a recognized expert in the field of disability
and workforce development. One of her strengths is her keen
ability to identify challenges and develop solutions for her
clients that are both practical and immediate. By including her
clients in the process and allowing opportunities to succeed up
front, Lisa believes this increases ownership over implementing
and sustaining long term change.
Lisa has an M.S. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the
University of Wisconsin – Madison and is a Certified
Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She holds multiple
certifications in the workforce development field, including:
2007 California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE)
Examiner, certified Benefits Specialist, Stepping Stones to
Recovery (SOAR) Statewide Trainer, and City of Los Angeles
Disability Services Specialist. Ms. Jordan is a certified Global
Career Development Facilitator-Instructor (GCDF-I), a curriculum
that contributes to the professional development and national
certification of workforce development professionals in 12 core
competency areas.
Ms. Jordan, through her work with the City of Los Angeles
over the last seven years, was one of the principal developers
of the EmployABILITY Program, a multi-faceted, nationally
recognized staff capacity building program designed to build the
skills of workforce development staff in serving customers and
youth with disabilities. Her primary role on the project has
been to provide technical assistance and training to the City’s
Workforce Development System, including services to over 50
agencies county-wide. In addition, her contributions have
included development and facilitation of disability-related
training modules for the City’s LEGACY Diversity Training
program, including a staff leadership course on building
effective collaboration within the One-Stop/youth system as well
as the development of collateral materials (technical assistance
manuals & guides) on a variety of disability-related topics. Ms.
Jordan provides employment-related technical assistance to the
City’s LA’s HOPE project, one of five projects funded by
Department of Labor nationwide to address chronic homelessness.
